Ocean Shores

August 2013

We spent two weeks of August at the Washington coast, Ocean Shores and Copalis Beach.  To paraphrase Mark Twain, it was the coldest winter of our RVing life.

To be fair, it only rained twice.  Once for 6 days, and once for 7 days.

Here's a video of us sunning ourselves on the beach.

There was a beached whale that had been there for about a month
and a nice starfish
We went to the Quinalt Rain Forest (in Washington, they just call it "the forest"), and saw some of the biggest trees of their species in the world.

We ate lunch at a fancy hotel
that had a rain gauge
Went hiking, saw some waterfalls

plant and animal life

and, of course, more big trees
Rob and Amber and the kids came up for a few days

and had a good time.  There was a sand sculpture in town
and, of course, we had dungeness crabs.  More pictures.
