April 2013
For being a volunteer at the Accenture Match Play Championship, I got to play a round on the course, the Ritz Carlton GC at Dove Mountain. It is a fun and challenging course, at a luxury resort, in a beautiful setting.
It's a Jack Nicklaus design, with wide fairways and huge greens, and a couple of reachable par 4's. This year some of the pros voiced some dissatisfaction with the course, and the sponsor is quitting, so the tournament will probably move for 2015. Harding Park seems to be the early favorite among the pros, but the new sponsor will have a say.
Most of the greens are elevated, with false fronts and sides.
And lots of undulations
Tee shots often have forced carries, typical for a desert course, but if you pick the right tee for your ability they are not severe.
