We did our first RV Golf stay this week, at Durango RV Resort in Red Bluff,
CA. Check out the reviews for this park, they are all true: Wide paved roads,
level concrete sites, manicured lawns,
full hookups, 50 amp, free wi-fi and
cable, nice pool and spa,
everything well-maintained, and the staff very helpful
and friendly. We’ve been full-timing for 18 months, and this is the nicest park
we’ve been in. Best of all, they have an arrangement with Wilcox Oaks, a private
club 4 miles away.
I played there for $45, walking. Very nice course, nice
people, very un-crowded on a Friday afternoon. Not terribly long, but every
fairway was lined on both sides with forests of large oak trees. No houses. No
fairway bunkers, but cleverly designed to use certain large trees to the same
effect.
Staying 2 nights at Durango for free recouped about 1 and 1/2 years of
RVGolf membership fees. I can’t wait for the next one.
